Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadows

Like many of you, I've seen these new cream eye shadows all over the Internet. I was reluctant at first (my New Year's resolution was NOT to purchase any more makeup. Oh well), but with so many great reviews I thought, maybe I'll give it a try. I'm so glad that I did.

Maybelline claims the eyeshadow will last for 24-hours, but we can all agree that hardly anyone is going to have their makeup on that long. I've worn Bad to the Bronze and Pomegranate Punk thus far. I'm away from home for 12 hours during the work week and the eye shadow held up very well. Some claim that they do not crease at all, but I have oily skin and they did crease just a little for me. The only thing that stops my eyeshadow from creasing 100% is eye shadow primer. I'm still in love with this product because for a grab, apply and go... it works excellently.

Depending on the look you are going for, coverage can be built up. The consistency is very creamy. I used my finger to apply the product, but I can also see myself using them as an eyeliner by simply using a eyeliner brush. You may also use them as a primer if you are going for an extremely vibrant look.

I purchased these at Walgreens for $6.99 each. Maybelline currently has 10 colors available. I picked up 7 of the 10 shadows (see photos below).

This week on Friday Night Confessional, I wore Audacious Asphalt.

  1. Great Post! Beautiful photos!

I love creme shadows as a base then I use a powder shadow to highlight. I have not tried the tattoo eyeshadow line, but am intrigued by your post. However, I have some by MAC which I love.

    2. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I hear these are comparable to the MAC paint pots but I don't own any so I can't speak on it ;-/ I'm really surprised by the quality of some of these drug store brands lately. For $6.99 these are great. Plus the fact that they are on sale, guuuuurl ;-) Thanks for the tip!

    3. I am not a MAC Snob :)nor brand loyal! I agree that drug store brands have stepped their game up. I believe the pigmentation of Wet & Wild eye shadows are comparable to MAC.

I will be heading over to Ulta today for the tattoo shadows, plus I have a coupon from Ulta.

PS I know you're a saver, hope you still have your receipt ;-)

Love your blog & YT channel!
